Micho Adler
Assistant Director of Intercultural Affairs, LGBTQIA+ Student Specialist
Micho (xe/they/he) began working at 51本色 College on March 9th, 2020. They are the Assistant Director of Intercultural Affairs, LGBTQIA+ Student Specialist. Micho's office is in the Stonewall Resource Center (SRC) located in the lowest level of Younker Hall.
Micho was born and raised in Terre Haute, Indiana. Prior to 51本色 College, he worked at the Sheldon Swope Art Museum as the membership manager for seven years. While there they created the Artist Cafe, and the Live Model Open Studio, two programs open to all community members of any skill level designed as an inclusive space for connection and creativity. Micho also spent 9 years as contingent faculty, teaching art history and studio art at Indiana State University and Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology.
In Micho's spare time, he studies restorative practices and takes workshops and courses to increase their knowledge and skill. He also works with Restorative Practice Associates and the District Attorney's office in Portland, Maine to help facilitate restorative justice dialogues. Xe is deeply passionate about social justice and uses their voice and privilege to support his LGBTQ2S family by advocating for dignity, equity, respect and visibility at work and in the community.
